Corothers Parkway VH  -  lease hold
brentwood, tn

After Several years of working as an associate in a busy small animal hospital just outside of Nashville, TN , Dr. Bill Rye decided to take the plunge and open up his own practice in Brentwood Tennessee. Dr. Rye opted to start his new practice, Carothers Parkway Veterinary Hospital, in a lease hold facility in the busy community of Brentwood.

CPVC occupies the two bays in the Reliant Center in Brentwood, for a total of 3500 sq. The challenge in a lease hold is always to fit as much functional space and create efficient circulation patterns in a long, rectangular plan.

Dr. Rye was very active in the design of the floor plan and the result is a very efficient, modern, and ample spaced design.

The curved reception desk and space welcomes clients and patients and reflects them to the amply-spaced waiting area. Directly off the waiting area, the cat room is visibly through a window. All of these spaces have large windows that bring plenty of natural light that highlights the marble-stained concrete floors.

The 4 exam rooms are stacked vertically which follows the longitudinal floor plan.

"Behind" the exam rooms is a very efficient lab-pharmacy which has islands of counter space. This design allows the staff to flow around these ample spaces to easily service the exam rooms and the adjacent action room and spaces.

The action room is "workplace central". This space has multiple functions and spills into surgical service spaces. In-hospital treatments, "dirty" surgery, dentals, surgery prep and special procedures occur in the action room. Radiology, sterile prep, surgery, ICU recovery and the staff room are directly adjacent to the central hub.

The most rear spaces include isolation, laundry and bathing and ward areas.

The CPVC will serve Dr. Rye his staff, clients and patients very well now, and for some time to come.
